This could be the most amazing year of our lives so
far.
We have both worked so much more than we ever have before. I would love us to be able to say at the end of the programme “We did it. We can now pay off our mortgage.” Ewon said last night “we are so close but so far”. We still need to sell another 40 hotpods, so if anyone has any ideas for publicity etc (or a rich friend!), even just forwarding this email might help. It was a huge scary step but we went to the hearth
and home show this year.
We were made very welcome, we did not know what to expect so designing and building our own stand was a nerve wracking experience. We needed to feel at home so we brought our own sofa and had a special surfboard shaped sign made for the event. We were surprised at how many retailers came up to the stand and expressed an interest in selling the stoves. The Hotpod won a Highly commended award in the highly contested best free-standing multi fuel stove category. It was great to beat the likes of Aga and Jotul. It took a while for it to sink in. It was well worth it, because we not only sold a Hotpod but by staying in the van rather than a hotel (planned) then being AA relayed home (unplanned) we saved heaps of cash. |

My yoga is still going strong. Not only did I get to
spend a week in the glorious Andalucian mountains, I
got paid for it too!
One week’s yoga heaven. The ladies that went were really good fun, I enjoyed getting to know them all and hope that they will be able to come again next year. So ladies if you’re reading this, thank you for a really special week. I taught amongst the almond groves and when it was too hot we cooled off around the swimming pool. What’s next for me? I am off to the Red Sea in Egypt on 19 November. There are still a few spaces left, if you fancy it. Please check my website for more details: |

Dan and I love this time of year.
The fields and hedgerows are full of gifts for us, still some blackberries around, sloes, apples, pears, rosehips, plums, sweet chestnuts and of course mushrooms. Dan found this one in a field just outside St Ives, after delivering a Hotpod. He picked enough for a very good breakfast. Ewon was so excited. He’d never seen them so big (neither had we) Mushrooms are one of his favourites. Dan, Lanyon, Grandad and I are going on a fungi foray to learn more about which mushrooms are edible so that we don’t end up becoming ill. |

The boys and I had a barge holiday with my mother
and father “in-love” up in Gloucestershire. Dan was
flat out in the workshop so his mum and dad thought
that it would be nice to give him a bit of space. He
gets more done when I am away. I think his week
was more productive than ever!
Unfortunately it rained almost every day and the river was flooded, so our barge stayed at the marina. We made the most of our time visiting National Trust properties and going for long walks. On one of the few clear days Ewon turned his hand to photography and being as artistic as Dan he decided that the reflection should be on top. Did you notice? |

Although the river was flooded, the boys as always,
made the most of it. We did formation walking (in a
straight line, as if we were on a barge) along the
towpath and opened and closed one of the locks. I
managed to tear them away once they were tired.
The boys are our inspiration. They have made so much of the last two years grabbing every opportunity to try new things, whether it is saving £70 for Lego or wetsuits, eating nettles or living in a shed. We could not do it without them. |

I know that it looks like Dan has been surfing - well
he has but even though he’s catching a wave he’s
still advertising Hotpods.
We have had loads of enquiries when we have been at the beach and when we have been surfing. So the surfboard shaped sign is definitely doing it’s job (see top picture again) Your support means so much We really could not have got through this year without all your emails helping us along the way. We are still on a mission to pay off our mortgage and so far we’re on target but we need to sell 40 more stoves! Do you know anyone who might be interested? René has suggested that we put the price up from 1st November because of so much interest from retailers. That’s the official date. But we would like to offer you until the end of November giving you a chance to buy a Hotpod for the original price of £1750 + VAT. Hope this newsletter finds you well. All the best,
